About the finnish affiliate

Physicians for social responsibility, Finland was founded in 1982. The goals are to increase the knowledge and responsibility of physicians about the prerequisites of health and survival of human societies. The main activities include work for peace, environmental issues and development co-operation.

The organisation is independent of all such parties that could endanger the professional independence of a physician and the organisation refuses to take support e.g. from pharmaceutical companies. PSR Finland is a member of IPPNW and is also part of Health Action International network.

There are about 950 members in the organisation, of which about 50 are students. The organisation publishes a newsletter “LSV-tiedote” four times a year

People can join by working on different projects, e.g. development co-operation work or other projects. There is more information on our website.
